Red Bull X-Alps returns for its fifth edition in 2011. A true test of endurance, the race, which was began by Hannes Arch in 2003, will see 31 of the world's best - and most versatile - athletes race non-stop through the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea, with just a paraglider and a pair of hiking boots for company. Their every move will tracked by advanced technology and broadcast to an audience of millions. The 2011 race begins at the Mozartplatz in Salzburg, Austria, and finishes in Monaco, France. In between are eight turnpoints in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France that force the participants through 864 kilometres of treacherous mountain terrain
